Toy Service - Sunday 4th December

Just a reminder that we have Toy Services this Sunday 4th December in our churches. Please donate toys in good condition for those less fortunate than ourselves.

This year the toys are being donated to Thresholds Women's Services which is the only women's refuge left in Oldham.

Please support this very needy cause and help make someone else's Christmas better than it otherwise might have been.
Thank you.

Easyfundraising - help raise funds for the parish and it won't cost you a penny!

Easy Fundraising – Earn money for Church whilst shopping
St Thomas’ St Agnes’ & St Hugh - Leesfield
We have registered our Parish in the easyfundraising scheme to raise funds for Church.

If you do any shopping on line you can earn funds for Church by simply going to the website you want via the easyfundraising site, and the Company you are buying from will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to Parish funds. The percentage varies from 1 company to another;  e.g. Argos is .75% and Amazon is 2.5% so if lots of us do this it can make quite a difference to our fundraising.
All 3 Churches are registered together, so any of us can join in.
If you want to support us in this way, and we know a lot of you will be internet shopping for Christmas, the procedure is quite simple.
Just go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk, select register and complete your details. You will then be asked to select your charity, which is St Thomas’ St Agnes’ & St Hugh - Leesfield. When you have done this you will then select your shop, and will be taken to the same website that you would normally use.
All you need to do then is just shop as usual and easyfundraising will send us a quarterly cheque. Simple!!!
If you want to know more please just speak to Liz Dent or Judith Knott.
Please help us if you possibly can in this way. It could raise a lot of money for Church with very little effort.
 Thank you

Rev David Halford - Interim Ministry

Having been in interregnum for nearly 2 years, the vacancy for our parish priest is being advertised again nationally in September.

The Diocese are aware of how difficult a long term interregnum can be and so both Archdeacon Cherry Vann & Bishop Mark have been looking at ways they can help us in the meantime.

As a result of this, Revd David Halford has agreed to offer an interim ministry in Leesfield from the beginning of September. David is an OLM, like Ruth, at St Anne’s Royton. He is a former Head Teacher and continues to work as an Ofsted inspector. Because of his work commitments, he will not be able to commit to anything regularly during the week, but will be with us most Sundays in the parish. David will be working closely with Ruth and both Roy & Neil, to help wherever he can and we look forward to David presiding and preaching at our services and joining us at our meetings and social events.
.
David will be a huge blessing to the parish as we continue to wait for the right person to come along to be our parish priest. We welcome him and hope he will feel at home in our Parish whilst he is with us.
